Overview

A spectacular liveaboard journey through some of West Papua’s most extraordinary marine regions, this Raja Ampat–Triton Bay itinerary aboard the Ambai combines the legendary reefs of Misool, Sabuda, and Momon with the wild beauty of Triton Bay.

Designed for adventurous snorkelers, the trip blends rich reef life, whale shark and manta encounters, and a true sense of exploration in one of the most remote corners of Indonesia.

Trip Highlights

• This itinerary explores an exceptional variety of marine habitats, from Misool’s hard coral reefs to Triton Bay’s unique soft coral gardens. Expect colorful reefs, dense fish life, dramatic underwater topography, and some of the most biodiverse shallow waters on the planet. In addition to snorkeling, the trip includes a dinghy ride into Triton Bay’s lagoons, a rainforest trek in Momon, and a short hike to the “Love Lagoon” in Misool.
• Enjoy a unique trip exclusively tailored to snorkelers! Our trip will include 25 to 30 different snorkeling locations that will give you ample opportunity to spot all the unique Coral Triangle marine life. Every day, we will be in a search for the region’s most iconic species, from tiny nudibranch to oceanic manta rays.
• Triton Bay is especially renowned for the possibility of whale shark encounters around the traditional bagans, the fishing platforms that attract schools of baitfish into the bay. In the calm waters around these structures, snorkelers have the chance to observe these gentle giants in one of the most extraordinary marine wildlife experiences Indonesia has to offer.
• We will explore the region aboard the Ambai, a 16-passenger luxury liveaboard designed for underwater exploration, fully chartered for our group of snorkelers. The Ambai offers 8 comfortable cabins, all equipped with individually controlled air conditioning. Each cabin features a private bathroom with a separate toilet and hot shower, along with ample storage space for personal belongings.
