Overview
Saudi Arabia is an exciting destination for travelers who enjoy exploring both above and below the water. On this 13-day trip, we’ll begin with three days discovering the desert landscapes and ancient sites of AlUla before heading to the Red Sea coast.
From Yanbu, we’ll board the Almonda for a snorkeling liveaboard around the Seven Sisters, a group of offshore reefs known for their coral formations, abundant marine life, and relatively few visitors. It’s a great opportunity to discover two very different sides of Saudi Arabia in one trip!

Trip Highlights
- The Seven Sisters are among the best-known reef systems off Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, but still see relatively few visitors. Our liveaboard will take us out to these offshore reefs, where we'll spend our days snorkeling over coral gardens, along reef walls and around shallow reef tops. We'll aim for 3 snorkeling sessions on full days, making the most of the different sites and conditions.
- There's plenty to look for underwater, from small reef creatures to much bigger visitors. Healthy coral formations provide a home for colorful reef fish, while turtles, rays and reef sharks are among the species we hope to encounter. The Yanbu area is also known for its spinner dolphins, and with a bit of luck, we might get to see a pod during our cruise!
- The Almonda will be our home at sea for the snorkeling part of the trip. With comfortable cabins, plenty of space to relax and easy access to the water, it's a good base for exploring reefs that would be difficult to reach on day trips. Between snorkeling sessions, there'll be time to review photos, compare sightings or simply enjoy being out on the Red Sea.
- Saudi Arabia has much more to offer than its Red Sea reefs! We'll start our trip with three days in Al-Ula, exploring its desert landscapes, ancient rock formations and the impressive Nabataean tombs of Hegra. From there, we'll head to Yanbu and board the Almonda for our snorkeling liveaboard.
